Parents and citizens (P&C)

Welcome to the BOPS Parents and Citizens Association.

 What is the P & C ?

The Parents and Citizens association is a body, comprised of both parents and citizens of the community supports and enhances your child's experience while at school.

This committee represents parents and children of the school, and is essentially the voice of the parents. It is at our monthly meetings that decisions which affect your child at school are made. We are responsible for a number of services in the school - e.g., the uniform shop, the canteen, school banking etc, as well as fundraising intitiatives which brings valuable funds to enhance the school. Those on the committee contribute to discussion in how the fundraising money is spent to support our school! In 2019 we donated new sports gazebos for each of our sports houses to use on carnival days. We have opreviously funded IPADs and school teaching and learning equipment.

P & C Meetings:

Currently P & C meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 7:00pm, on the school grounds. Any parent is welcome to attend these meetings. The meetings provide a valuable opportunity to:

* Find out what is really happening in the school - talk to the principal and other teachers that may attend * Influence school policy

* Have a say in camps/excursions/incursions, event days

* Guide the school management in its financial planning by helping to prioritise the resource wish-list

* Contribute to the school's resources through fundraising initiatives

* Meet other like-minded parents.

What services do we provide?

If you would like to pay for uniforms via bank transfer, the details can be found at the bottom of the form and are included below.

Uniform orders you can pay us directly. Please note that this is NOT the same as the school bank account. All Uniform orders need to be paid to:

Bank Account Namr: BOPS P&C BSB: 062 252

Bank Account: 100 195 24

Please include your child's name as the reference information.

Canteen

The P&C provides a canteeen service for students on Fridays. Lunch orders need to be dropped to the canteen by 8:55am on Friday morning.  The Canteen will open for recess and lunch counter service.

Lunch orders are prepared by our volunteers and delivered to your child's class at lunch time.

The canteen is run by volunteers who generously donate their time to our school to provide this service to our students. We would greatly appreciate new volunteers to keep this service available and viable. If you could donate 3 hours of your time once a term (or more) to help us provide this service, then please let the school office know, or contact the P&C directly via the details below.

School Banking

Established in 1931, School Banking has been teaching money-management skills to generations of primary school Australians. Students participating in School Banking will get weekly hands-on saving practice, when they bring their deposit to school in their Dollarmites deposit wallet on School Banking day. They’ll also receive a silver Dollarmites token each time they make a deposit, which they can redeem for a reward. Your school banking day is Wednesday.

Fundraising Each year the P&C undertakes a variety of fundraising initiatives. All monies raised go directly to the school to support your child's school experience. Each year we provide the following opportunities to support our school:

  • April - Easter fundraising raffle.
  • May - Mother's Day Stall July -
  • Sausage sizzle for the athletics carnival September - Father's Day Stall December -
  • Christmas Carols night (first Friday in December) as well as a Christmas raffle.
  • We often hold other fundraisers throughout the year. In the past we've sold chocolate, cookie dough and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and held a Colour Run. Our last donation to the school from these fundraising initiatives funded the sports gazebos embroidered with the house names, replacing the older and much smaller ones.

If you have an idea for a fundraiser, have a fundraising goal, or would like to be involved please come along to a meeting!

Can't donate your time? There are many other ways to support the P&C and the school, for example by donating your two free council plants per year. Talk to us about ways to be involved!

We are currently investigating ways to accept your canteen and fundraising money online. Contact Us Have a question?
